The renowned journalist Víctor Hugo Morales to the C5N news channel, where -until last year- he occupied prime time prime time. According to the emblematic announcer, his departure was due to the fact that does not agree with the proposal made to him from the channel for this 2023.
“This year the channel made an offer that did not give me any joy because my participation was greatly reduced, precisely, in an electoral year”, Morales recounted in an Instagram post.
He should have made public the reasons that led him to leave C5N, after the issue was installed on the media agenda. Even the journalist Luis Ventura insinuated that he left “slamming the doors” of the television signal.
“I’m not going to speculate what could have motivated that, but I’m going to take it in television terms”, Morales asserted regarding the decision of the medium to reduce its participation on the screen to a weekly format.
“The channel has the right to seek its own agenda, its own idea”, continued who until now was one of the figures of this sign. And she added: “What the channel offered me for this year was not useful to me and I manage my career with a very deep sense of dignity”.
At the same time, it sought to mitigate rumors of a scandalous exit due to payment defaults. “It is not real that there is a debt. The channel does not owe me a peso. It is not true what has been disseminated. They have always made great efforts to sustain payments at times when they wanted to steal the channel,” he clarified in an attempt to settle the matter.
In this way, he was contemplative and appreciated the time on the air on this screen: “Hundreds of professionals are eager to work in television and sometimes do not have the opportunity to have a program once a week. I have had 7 years, every day, making television in this period and, therefore, I am not going to complain.
Just a few minutes later the publication was deleted, which aroused suspicions to new speculation about the terms of the resignation, in the text he had taken the opportunity to seek a conciliatory closure: “I take this opportunity to once again thank the channel, all my colleagues and the viewers for all these years that we have shared together.”, concluded the message.

Conflicts with the channel are not new. In 2019 there was also a scandal when the negotiation for his contract led him to say: “It seems that this stage of my life is over”.
At that time, the relationship with the channel authorities was going through a bad moment after Morales joined to a general wage claim from the channel of the Indalo groupalthough -finally- an agreement was reached between both parties that now seems to have been broken.
This is not the only conflicting history between the journalist and the C5N authorities: in November 2017, Morales denounced that they had fired him for his critical line with the government of Mauricio Macriat a time when the holding company had new owners: the OP fund, which ended up leaving the business in March 2018. When Cristóbal López’s Indalo group recovered the channel, they agreed to return the journalist to their screen.
