The criminal prosecution against the Spartans’ MPs will probably bring developments in the Parliament.
The Prosecutor of the Supreme Court, who personally conducted an investigation after the public complaints of the head of the Spartans, Vassilis Stigas, about illegal behind-the-scenes actions in his party, gave an order for criminal prosecution for defrauding the electorate against the Director of the Athens Primary Prosecutor’s Office.
Criminal prosecution will be brought to the extent of a misdemeanor against:

Specifically, the prosecution concerns the eleven MPs who were elected with the Spartiates party during the recent parliamentary elections, apart from Vasilios Stigas, but also the incarcerated member of Golden Dawn Ilias Kasidiaris, who is ordered to be criminally prosecuted as the moral perpetrator of the fraud of the electoral body, as from the prosecutor’s investigation, it emerged that he was the real leader of the Spartan party, he was the one who pulled the strings, guiding and contributing decisively to his electoral descent and the election of his deputies to Parliament.
His prosecution Ilias Kasidiaris as a moral author, i.e. as a hidden leader of the Spartans, he relied on the existence of evidence that emerged from the investigation of the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court, that he had continuous contacts from prison with candidate parliamentarians of the Spartans and that he had taken over their guidance and policy support, which the law forbids, both for himself and for other ACA inmates who have convictions as a criminal organization.
Prosecution of lawyer Sotirios Metaxas as well
However, in addition to Ilias Kasidiaris and the MPs of the Spartans who will be prosecuted, Mrs. Adeilinis also ordered the prosecution of the lawyer Sotirios Metaxas, as he participated, as emerged from the investigation, in the contacts of Ilias Kasidiaris with the candidates and later MPs of the party ” Spartans”.
Sotirios Metaxas is being prosecuted for complicity in deceiving the electorate.

The decisions of the Electoral Court on the objections against the Spartan party are now awaited. If things develop like this, the ruling party will increase its parliamentary presence, while the opposition parties will also get seats.
The scenarios for filling the seats are as follows:
Occupancy of the respective seats by the first candidate of the party that had the largest undistributed balance in the specific electoral district.
Proportional distribution of the percentage of the Spartans (4.68%) among all the parties that participated in the elections of June 2023. In this case the ND would increase its percentage by 1.9% and go to 42.45% while the its seats from 158 would rise to 163. Accordingly, SYRIZA will get another 3 seats and so on. In this case, however, “jams” will be caused in almost all constituencies
Already after the order of the Supreme Court, the MP Giorgos Manoussos announced his independence from the party. “My stay in it (KO) until now had to do with my belief that the Greek justice would not reveal a single nugget of credibility in these false statementsespecially after the evidence I presented before her,” the MP said and continued:
“My morality, my attitude to life but also my dignity, they don’t allow me to continue to coexist by man who drove me lies and slander defendant assemble her his parliamentary group”.
«Therefore, awaiting the decision of the A.E.D.. I will fulfill my duties as independent member of parliament honoring the vote of the thousands of our compatriots who trusted me”, he noted.
Also, a little while later, the MP Ioannis Dimitrokallis also announced his independence.
Now the KO of the Spartans now has eight MPs. It should be noted that, if the KO of the party has less than five MPs, it is dissolved.
