WhatsApp now allows you to use voice notes as states

For WhatsApp It seems not enough that it is the most widely used instant messaging application in the world, with more than 2.200 million users all over the planet. Now it also intends to be a kind of social network, or rather, to incorporate some of the characteristics that we see in social networks that its parent company, Meta, also has.

Although WhatsApp “statuses” have been on the platform for some time, similar to the “stories” we see on Instagram, that is, the possibility of leaving an image, video, text or even a GIF for 24 hours so that your contacts see it, the company has now added a new possibility: leave voice notes as statuses.

Voice memos work the same way as the other state formats. You can record an audio of up to 30 seconds and leave it for your contacts to listen to in the Status tab for the next 24 hours. What message or audio could you leave that was so interesting that someone would hold their phone to their ear, or worse, listen to it in the middle of the street using the phone’s speakerphone to the terror of everyone around them? Well, you will have to let your creativity flow.

Another novelty related to states is the possibility of “reacting” to states, in a similar way to the way you can react to messages in conversation windows. It will also be possible to filter who you want to see (and who not) your states, being able to choose between “my contacts”, “my contacts except…” and “only share with…”.

WhatsApp is doing very well being what it is, a messaging platform and voice and video calls that are widely used throughout the world; In addition, they have also ventured into the sales and monetization market with WhatsApp Business. But if they add more functions to the states, it will be for a reason, either because there really is a large percentage of users who take advantage of this function, or because they want to encourage them to do so and spend more time than we already do in the application. Fortunately, they also usually add very useful functions. [via[víaMashable]
