“At WhatsApp, privacy is in our DNA, and we will never stop creating new ways to protect your personal conversations.”, says Meta. Quietly leave groups
Until recently, leaving a WhatsApp group was a very noisy act. A notification with the username and exit date was left, which could add some drama to abandoning a conversation. Given this, the messaging app has announced that from this month the function of leaving a group without notifications will be an alternative. Only admins will know you left.
Choose who can know you’re online
Another feature that WhatsApp has announced is coming this month is the option to choose who can see you online. Many times entering to see a message is not synonymous with being available. Knowing that your contacts are online is a way to get closer to each other, but this excess of information can also be uncomfortable for some users.
This new feature will allow you to select which users can see you online, if some, all or none. What the company has not detailed is whether by restricting this information it will happen that you will not be able to see those other connected users at the same time.

Single viewing of photos and media files is already a very popular way of sharing content on WhatsApp. It is usually used for materials that do not require a permanent digital record in the app. Now it seeks to increase privacy protection by enabling screen capture blocking for these ephemeral messages.
This new function —unlike the first two— is in a testing period and the date on which it will be available is not yet known. But, as written by the company, it is expected that “be available to users soon”.
