If the singer’s spokesperson announced that this decision was due to a schedule problem, the reason would be quite different according to a source close to the star. “Kylie has been a British figure for many, many years and she admires the Royal Family and everything they do. But she is also a passionate Australian and she understood what was going on in a country that could very soon become a republic”said the source. As a reminder, Kylie Minogue had already performed on the occasion of the 92nd birthday of Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Albert Hall in 2018.
The list of artists who will perform to celebrate Charles’s ascension to the throne is currently very limited. In fact, Elton John, the Spice Girls, Adele, Harry Styles, Robbie Williams or even Ed Sheeran have each declined the offer. For now, Take That and Lionel Ritchie should normally accept the offer and perform at Windsor Castle.
