Sharjah – UAE Born on December 2, 1971 in Dubai Shamim Yusuf Kalarikal, a Malayali, wrote the country’s success story. The book ‘Why Sky is Not the Limit: Vignettes of a UAE Expat Who Shares Birthday with Host Country’ was released at the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2023) on November 5, the day the country was formed into a union.
Regency Group Chairman Shamsuddin Bin Muhiuddin presented the book to author’s mother Zaheeda Yousaf. Shamsuddin bin Muhiuddin commended Shamim for choosing the title ‘Why the Sky is Not the Limit’, inspired by the words of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Shamim said that he was lucky to be born in the UAE on December 2, 1971, the nation’s birthday. It was the day the Trucial States united to form a single federation called the UAE under the leadership of the great Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

He also said that it is his humble effort to record the wonderful economic growth that has brought a positive change in the lives of expatriates.
