Will not allow anyone to delay election: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court, while dismissing the petition challenging the delimitation of Balochistan, has said that no one will be allowed to delay the elections. Election constituencies cannot be changed after the election schedule is issued. The court dismissed the petition challenging the demarcation.

A three-member bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Sardar Tariq Masood heard the review petition related to the delimitation of Constituency PP-12 of Balochistan, during which the Acting Chief Justice spoke to the petitioner that since the date of general elections in the country. On this, lawyer petitioner Qamar Afzal said that a wrong decision was taken regarding electoral constituencies, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah said that the election program has been issued and nothing can be done now. Justice Mansoor spoke to the petitioner’s lawyer that if you don’t want the elections on time, make a statement in the court, the election will not be derailed under any circumstances.

Justice Athar Manullah said that there should be no delay in the elections, no one will be allowed to delay the election, the constituencies cannot be changed after the election schedule is released. Later, the court dismissed the plea challenging the zoning.
