Windows 12 is still being talked about, and today the recommended configurations that have been highlighted have been leaked. Microsoft’s next operating system may require 8GB of RAM, as well as a TPM 2.0 chip, like Windows 11.
Windows 12 isn’t about to be released, but it’s being talked about more and more. Microsoft’s new operating system, which will be called Next Valley internally, may arrive as soon as next year. Today, the recommended configurations are what you’re talking about.
German website Deskmodder has leaked some information about it. According to him, Microsoft should keep requirements TPM 2.0 for security reasons. This isn’t a surprise, but it is confirmation that it might be a bit early for the Pluto system. As a reminder, this coprocessor that debuted with the Ryzen 6000 provides additional protection by plugging holes in the TPM.

Windows 12 requires 8 GB of RAM
What’s more, Deskmodder claims Windows 12 may require a minimum of 8GB of RAM, compared to 4GB for Windows 11. This is due to cloud-focused usage, according to the German site. In terms of processors, nothing should change compared to the operating system we currently know.
Windows 12 does not currently have a release date, but Microsoft may choose to release it at the end of 2024. Redmond will return to the 3-year life cycles. In 2015, Microsoft attempted to end this tradition by releasing Windows 10, the “ultimate” operating system that was refreshed by free updates. A job that lasted six years before the arrival of Windows 11.
