The Wisconsin Herd has overhauled its transaction ledger with the Westchester Knicks, pulling off a pair of talent acquisitions that reshape the roster ahead of the upcoming campaign. The NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks announced a trade bringing in returning player rights for 6-foot-7, 190-pound guard Adama Bal, sending out a 2027 second-round draft pick, a 2028 second-round draft pick, and the returning player rights to Tuburu Naivalurua according to the Wisconsin Herd News Release published on OurSports Central.
That transaction was mirrored by a separate agreement on the exact same day, which saw the Herd acquire the returning player rights to Manny Obaseki from the Westchester Knicks in exchange for a 2027 second-round pick as reported by OurSports Central. Together, the moves signal a push by the Oshkosh-based franchise to secure professional experience and collegiate talent.
Bal arrives in Wisconsin carrying recent NBA pedigree. During the 2025-26 season, the French guard appeared in eight games with the Memphis Grizzlies, where he posted 10.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per contest while efficiently shooting 40.9% from beyond the arc per team details shared by OurSports Central. Prior to that NBA call-up, Bal logged 21 games for the Westchester Knicks last season, averaging 7.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.0 assist.
Before turning pro, Bal built a collegiate resume across stints at Santa Clara and Arizona. Across 107 career college games, he averaged 8.6 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists according to team records published via OurSports Central, earning All-West Coast Conference first-team nods in 2024 and 2025.
Roster Depth and Collegiate Pedigree
The addition of Obaseki further deepens the Herd’s perimeter and wing rotation. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound forward began his professional career in the NBA G League during the 2025-26 season, splitting 37 combined games between the Westchester Knicks and the Oklahoma City Blue noted OurSports Central. Over those contests, Obaseki averaged 7.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 18.7 minutes per night, shooting 42.6% from the field and 36.4% from three-point range.
It doesn’t appear that either the Wisconsin Herd or Westchester Knicks have posted details (yet) on the trade. The Knicks might have traded off of Adama Bal for draft-pick compensation considering that they have added a ton of player value (GLeague or 2-Way) that they’d likely…
Before his transition to the G League, Obaseki spent four seasons at Texas A&M from 2021 to 2025. He appeared in 127 total games for the Aggies, culminating in a senior campaign where he played in all 34 games, averaged 6.5 points and 1.6 rebounds, and helped guide the program to the NCAA Tournament as outlined by OurSports Central.
Future Draft Capital and Outlook
By parting ways with future second-round selections in the 2027 and 2028 drafts alongside Naivalurua’s returning rights, the Herd front office has pivoted toward immediate on-court readiness. The dual transactions leave Westchester with replenished draft assets while providing Milwaukee’s minor-league affiliate with two prospects who have logged minutes in both college basketball and the professional development ranks.
