With children’s smiles and voices, the Old Slaughterhouse’s multi-purpose hall “came alive” throughout February, the peak month of the carnival season, since the Lilliputians were protagonists both in the Carnival towns and in the educational programs.

The visits of Primary Education schools and pre-school education centers to the Old Slaughterhouse multi-purpose hall continued without interruption, as part of the operation of the educational programs-creative carnival workshops, organized by KEDIP-Patra Carnival with the cooperation of the Directorate of Honorary Education and the Structure for the Promotion of Cultural Heritage of the Municipality of Patreon.

In February, the Old Slaughterhouses were visited:

“Roz Baloni” Nursery School, “Serafino the Hedgehog” Preschool Center, 38th Kindergarten of Patras, Vrachneikan Primary School, 3rd Primary School of Paralia, Experimental Primary School of the University of Patras, 48th Kindergarten of Patras, 52nd Primary School of Patras, 54th Primary School of Patras , the 35th Primary School of Patras, the Primary School of Farres, the 24th Primary School of Patras, the 48th Primary School of Patras, the 13th Primary School of Patras and the 1st Primary School of Obryas.

A total of 778 children from the above schools attended and actively participated in the educational programs-creative workshops “Mask or Hat”, “Karagiozis”, “Masquerade Collage” and “Vitro Carnival Performances”. They watched educational videos about the Carnival or about Karagiozis and the Shadow Theater, they visited the Poster exhibition of Patrinos Carnival and the exhibition with sketches by Andreas Angelopoulos, and they made masks using the traditional paper-making technique.
