Future in suspense and great first with the Blue: the hot summer of Katoto

Clara Matéo, patroness of the first act

After a heavy physical preparation carried out during these last two weeks, the teammates of Marie-Antoinette Katoto had above all the objective of returning to the path of competition, this Saturday evening at the Pierre Brisson stadium in Beauvais. After two serious alerts signed Delphine Cascarino (9th) and Katoto (28th), the Blue accelerated to the half-hour mark. Cleverly served by Clara Matéo on the verge of offside, Melvine Malard, the young striker of Olympique Lyonnais scored their 4th goal in Blue with a fine shot from the right (1-0, 31st). The decisive pass from the Paris FC striker capped a very inspired first period on her part, with very clever movements between the lines.

Griedge Mbock folded all suspense a few minutes later, with a nice half-volley from the right after a long ball from Charlotte Bilbault badly repelled by Cameroonian goalkeeper Ange Gabrielle Bawou (2-0, 38th).

Ouleymata Sarr also shone

While she must announce Monday in which club she will play next season, Marie-Antoinette Katoto, the flagship striker of Les Bleues and Paris Saint-Germain did not score this evening, despite a good volley released by Bawou in the first period. Replaced at the break by Ouleymata Sarr, Katoto saw the Paris FC striker shine, on two superb headers from a corner (58th, 63rd).

With a little more success, Sarr, one of the surprises on Corinne Deacon’s list of 23, could even have scored two other goals, without the intervention on the line after a nice lob in front of Bawou (54th) and his shot from the right pushed back by the post, on a new service from Clara Matéo (86th). But the main thing is elsewhere: physically, the Blues seem to be gaining strength, while Hawa Cissoko, who entered an unusual right-back position for the West Ham defender, was excluded at the very end of the match for a second yellow. Before their entry into the running for the Euro on July 10 against Italy, the Blues will have a last preparation match to get in the know, next Friday in Orleans against Vietnam.
