Working until 71: Wolfgang Katzian is once again in office as ÖGB President

2023-06-21 20:00:00

On Thursday, the President of the Austrian trade union federation, Wolfgang Katzian, is standing for re-election. The term of office at the top of the ÖGB is a long one at five years. Katzian will be 67 in the fall. In recent years, it has been customary in the trade union to say goodbye at the latest when the standard retirement age is reached. At the age of 62, Katzian’s predecessor, Erich Foglar, refused to stand for another five years. ÖGB legend Anton Benya stayed until his mid-70s.
