Death came with the wind
Japanese schoolchildren glued together the first intercontinental weapons – paper balloons. Only an attack in Oregon broke the silence of the US government.
White balloons in the sky over the USA, unknown flying objects, pieces of debris that pose riddles. Balloons have been alarming the US government not just since the alleged Chinese spy balloon flew over and was shot down off the coast of South Carolina in early February. Almost 80 years ago, the jet stream transported strange flying objects from Asia to North America. The memory of history’s first intercontinental weapons – which coincided with the first attacks on the United States mainland – may have contributed to the reaction and public outrage in the United States to the current balloon incident.
