AliExpress and Shein: Brazilians prefer to buy on international websites and pay in installments

According to a survey released by the CNDL (National Confederation of Retail Managers) and the SPC (Credit Protection Service), the websites of international retailers have already surpassed those of national retailers in Brazilians’ preference.

The survey data shows that 74.4% of respondents stated that they made international purchases on sites such as AliExpress, Shein, Ebay and also Amazon.

On the other hand, national websites registered a drop to 70.6%.

Payment in installments is the preferred method of the average Brazilian, being used by 66%, while PIX has surpassed the good old bank slip and is the most used for cash payments.

The CNDL and SPC survey also highlights some points that influence online shopping. Free shipping accounts for 64%, while the more attractive price than in physical stores appears next with 56%.

iPhone: new devices can be updated by Apple without having to open the box

Apple may start delivering its new, already updated iPhones to users. According to information released this week, the Cupertino company developed a system capable of updating the iOS version even before iPhones are sold. That is, still inside the box.

Mark Gurman said that the device capable of doing this task looks like a wireless charging plate, and Apple Store employees simply place the sealed iPhone boxes on the surface to transfer and install the update.

The board activates the iPhone wirelessly, runs the software update and turns the device off again. For now, the new feature is not yet being implemented, but everything indicates that the update device should reach the company’s stores by the end of this year.

PS5 Pro: console may have Zen 2 CPU and RDNA 3 GPU with double the power

New rumors released this week indicate that Sony is already working on the development of the PlayStation 5 Pro after launching a new version last week.

According to these sources, the PS5 Pro should have an AMD Zen 2 processor with 8 cores with a frequency of approximately 4 GHz and an RDNA 3 GPU with twice the power compared to the current generation. Furthermore, the set must be lined with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB storage.

For now, Sony is not commenting on the matter, but the PS5 Pro development kits are already with the developers and everything indicates that the presentation will be in the first half of 2024.

Netflix ends ad-free Basic plan in Brazil

Netflix announced this week that it will end the ad-free basic subscription option in Brazil, which costs R$25.90 per month. The change starts next week and only applies to new subscribers.

With this, the company implements the same action in Brazil that it began to do in other countries.

It is worth remembering that subscribers will now only be able to opt for the standard option which costs R$39.90 or the premium option, which basically amounts to R$56. If you want to pay cheaper, the only option will be the plan with ads for R$18.90 .

Galaxy S24 has more details leaked before launch

The Galaxy S24 line should be launched in early 2024 and new rumors released this week bring a series of information about the devices.

Sources say that the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus and Ultra should be sold in black, gray, violet and yellow.

In addition, the standard and Plus models must have an AMOLED LTPO screen with a maximum brightness of 2,500 nits. In other words, they should finally reach the standard we have in the Ultra variant.

And speaking of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the device must use a telephoto sensor that will make the optical zoom capacity drop from 10 times to 5 times. Even so, the smartphone will continue to offer the much-acclaimed 100x digital zoom in its software.

Finally, it was also reinforced that the standard Galaxy S24 and Plus must use the Exynos 2400 chipset and only the S24 Ultra will feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 worldwide. As Samsung does not comment on leaks, we have to wait and see what is confirmed.

Xiaomi confirms that HyperOS should replace MIUI

Xiaomi confirmed that the Xiaomi 14 line should mark the debut of the new HyperOS interface. The software has already had some screenshots leaked, confirming a more minimalist design language and there is also a list circulating to indicate which devices can be updated.

Nothing has yet been made official by Xiaomi, but Lei Jun, CEO and founder of the company, said that HyperOS is a kind of fusion between Android and proprietary software that Xiaomi used in its smart devices.

With this, the intention is to integrate everything to make the smartphone the control center for the smart home and even to activate functions in the company’s electric car. In other words, everything is very promising.
