Today Zenon Wieczorek celebrates his 72nd birthday. The son of the outstanding Zagłębie coach Teodor Wieczorek played a total of 46 games for Zagłębie.

Zenon Wieczorek– born April 4, 1952 in Chorzów. A student of the Silesian Stadium school – the first coach – Edward KoŹlik, then of Chorzów’s Wyzwolenie, from where he came to Zagłębie in the fall of 1972. Position on the pitch – defender or midfielder. Teodor’s son – an outstanding coach of Zagłębie. Debut in the 1st league – April 1, 1973 with Pogoń in Szczecin (0:2).

In the years 1973 – 1976 in the first league 38 times. In addition, 2 times in the PP and 6 times in the Intertoto. In total, he played in 46 official matches (without a goal). After leaving the club, he still played for GKS Katowice, Górnik 09 Mysłowice and Zagłębie (then Hutnik) Dąbrowa Górnicza.

He returned to Zagłębie as a youth coach and manager of the first team. Later he cooperated with the Sosnowiec Club as a security manager. He is currently retired.
