Zelda BOTW 2: we’ve never waited so long for a new Zelda episode – Nintendo Switch

Both posthumous Wii U and launch title of the Nintendo Switch, The Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild is a game that has already entered the pantheon of the best video games ever made. Suffice to say that its sequel is eagerly awaited (at the turn) by fans around the world. However, to be honest, this is the case with all Zelda episodes. Each new opus of the Legend is indeed still awaited with great hope and impatience. Nintendo fans know full well that games in the Zelda series are often placed at the forefront of video game production and generally promise an extraordinary adventure of a quality far superior to the majority of other games in the genre. However, you just have to be a little patient. The waiting time between two episodes varies but tends to get longer and longer as technology advances and consoles become more powerful. This is also what had fun checking a fan of the license called Geo on the networks. According to his calculations, the waiting time between two new 3D episodes of the Legend has only grown (leaving aside remakes and other remasters.) Find below its various calculations:

Waiting time between two Zelda 3D :

  • Ocarina of Time et Majora’s Mask : 523 days
  • Majora’s Mask & The Wind Waker : 960 days
  • The Wind Waker & Twilight Princess : 1437 days
  • Twilight Princess & Skyward Sword : 1825 days
  • Skyward Sword & Breath of The Wild : 1932 days
  • Breath of The Wild and today : 1995 days

Geo also note that even including 2D Zelda, the waiting time between Breath of The Wild et Zelda BOTW 2 remains the longest, surpassing the previous record of five years of waiting in between Link’s Awakening et Ocarina of Time. During a time scheduled for an outing This yearFollowing Breath of The Wild, which does not yet have a title and which for convenience we call Zelda BOTW 2, will finally be revealed spring 2023. So when the new Zelda finally comes out, it will do at least 6 ans that we are waiting for. It will be a record; a record that we have already reached in this month of august 2022. Obviously, we hope, as always, that the wait will be worth it. We also know that logically, Nintendo should, like every year, quench our thirst for Zelda with another game to keep us waiting…, Remake, remaster… We’ve already made you the list of possibilities available to Nintendo in a special article (see here.) One should logically be fixed by here anyway not much time. In the meantime, there’s not much else to do but wait and wait. This is the lot of Zelda fans.
