Gamers hunting for concrete details on the highly anticipated return of Nintendo’s classic title got an unexpected preview when an eShop listing surfaced early in the Southern Hemisphere. While official gameplay demonstrations remained under wraps ahead of the broadcast, the regional store update provided the first hard numbers regarding how Nintendo intends to price the modernized release for the modern hardware generation. All Nintendo has officially revealed so far for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2 is the briefest of teasers and a 2026 release window.
Regional Store Listings Reveal Pricing and Tiers
Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Gets Early Australia Nintendo Store
The pricing data emerged directly from the Australian and New Zealand digital storefronts. While there’s no official eShop listing for Zelda: Ocarina of Time, searching for “Zelda” on the Australian and New Zealand Nintendo websites does turn up a result that lists a price tag $94.95 AUD for the digital version. The game will have a digital price of $94.95 AUD, which is the discounted digital price, which would make the physical equivalent priced at $109.95 AUD.
The listing was first spotted by the Australia Nintendo gaming site Vooks. The digital price in New Zealand is $104.95 NZD. This suggests a digital price in the U.S. of $59.99 USD, and for those overseas, this should mean $59.99 USD or £49.99 GBP (digitally), however since the listing is only for Australia and New Zealand we can’t guarantee this will be the case. Note that Nintendo made a change earlier this year in which its digital releases for Switch 2 would be priced lower than their physical counterparts.
Where the Ocarina of Time Remake Fits in Nintendo’s Lineup

The newly leaked cost positions the title squarely in the middle tier of Nintendo’s software catalog. That would be the same as Nintendo charged for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book and $10 more than the price of the recent Star Fox remake. It makes it the same price as Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. So, it’s not as expensive as Donkey Kong Bananza, but not as cheap as Star Fox. Right in the middle. Nintendo shipped another remake earlier this year with the launch of Star Fox, which was priced at $50 digitally and $60 physically.
It also suggests the Ocarina of Time remake isn’t going to be the full-blown reboot some fans wanted. While there was speculation about what a recreation of Ocarina of Time in the mold of the recent open-world Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom games might look like, a $60 price points to a remake that’s more of a graphical upgrade than a gameplay overhaul. Star Fox received a bunch of newly created story cutscenes with voice acting, as well as some tweaks, quality-of-life improvements, and new features, but was otherwise the same.

However, Nintendo stopped short of confirming exactly what will be included in the Ocarina of Time Remake segment. While many fans have speculated that we will see a gameplay demonstration, that hasn’t been confirmed, though it would be pretty surprising if Nintendo didn’t at least release a new overview trailer featuring our first look at gameplay.
According to Swiss retailer WOG.ch, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is set to release on December 1st. Although this date isn’t official just yet, retailers have leaked launch dates for games plenty of times in the past, as they’re often privy to this information prior to the general public. That being said, retailers occasionally use placeholder dates as well in listings, which is a distinct possibility in this case with Ocarina of Time. Perhaps the biggest thing that goes against this date being the official one for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is that it happens to fall on a Tuesday, while Nintendo has frequently been releasing its own first-party games on Thursdays throughout the Switch 2 generation, as most recently seen with Star Fox and Splatoon Raiders.
