Kim Seung-gyu (32, Kashiwa Reysol), the main goalkeeper of the Korean men’s soccer team, led by coach Paulo Bento (Portugal), has moved to Al Shabab, Saudi Arabia’s first division in the Middle East.

Al-Shabaab announced on the 6th (Korea time) the signing of Kim Seung-gyu, who was active in Japan’s Gassia Reysol, through the club’s official SNS (social media). Kim Seung-gyu, who has been active in the Kashiwa uniform since January 2020, has chosen a new challenge as his playing time has decreased this season.

Kim Seung-gyu, who made his debut at Ulsan Hyundai in the Korean professional soccer K League in 2008, played eight seasons until 2015 before moving to the Japanese professional soccer J-League Vissel Kobe in 2016. He returned to Ulsan in the summer of 2019, but was transferred to Japan’s Kashiwa through the winter transfer window in the winter of 2020. Then, in the summer of 2022 transfer window, he made his first move to the Middle East.

Al-Shabaab is a member of the Saudi Professional League, the first division of Saudi Arabia’s professional football league, and has won the title six times.
