Previously, in Uzbekistan, 19 children died after taking cough medicine from Marion Biotech (India). Analysis by the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan shows that two syrups Ambronol and DOK-1 Max, manufactured by Marion Biotech, contain toxic ethylene glycol.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has also reported that dozens of young children in the Gambia, a country in West Africa, died from acute kidney damage that could be linked to a cough and cold syrup tainted by a virus. Indian drug manufacturer.

The WHO cited information from the Indian Medicines Quality Control Agency that Maiden Pharmaceuticals Ltd had only supplied the above drugs to Gambia. 4 products include: Promethazine Oral Solution, Kofexmalin Baby Cough Syrup, Makoff Baby Cough Syrup and Magrip N Cold Syrup.

The review results of the Drug Administration of Vietnam show that Vietnam has not issued any registration number to Maiden Pharmaceuticals Ltd; registration numbers for 4 cough medicine products Promethazine Oral Solution, Kofexmalin Baby Cough Syrup, Makoff Baby Cough Syrup and Magrip N Cold Syrup have not been issued, and Maiden Pharmaceuticals Ltd does not have any dossiers being submitted to the Department.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam recommends that people only buy medicinal products of clear origin and have been granted circulation registration numbers, and do not buy and use floating products.
