Al-Ahly defeats Esperance and is crowned champion of the African Air Force

Al-Ahly club was crowned the champion of the African Volleyball Club Championship (men), after it defeated Esperance of Tunisia in the final match by three games to one.

Al-Ahly excelled in the first half of the match, with a score of 25-22, before winning the second half with the same result, while the result of the third period was in favor of Esperance 26-24.

Al-Ahly was forced to play the fourth half of the match, which managed to settle it in his favour, with a score of 25-17, to end the confrontation in his favour, and announce his crowning of the title.

Al-Ahly had participated in the tournament that was held in Tunisia as the sole representative of Egypt, after Zamalek apologized for not being in the competition.

This title is the 15th title for Al-Ahly Club and the fourth in a row, after the pioneers of the army cut off their crowning series, which began in 2015, and returned again in 2017.

Al-Ahly is at the top of the club winning the championship with 15 titles, in front of Tunisian Sfaxien with six titles, then Zamalek and Esperance with five.

The Tunisian African won three titles, his compatriot Etoile and Mouloudia Algiers of Algeria won two titles, and finally Tala’a El Jaish and Nasr Hussein Dey of Algeria won one title for each team.

The last title won by Esperance was in the African Volleyball Club Championship in 2014.
