A 3-year-old child fatally run over in the Walibi parking lot

A dramatic incident occurred this Tuesday followingnoon in the Walibi parking lot, a man knocked down a 3-year-old child, accompanied by his parents and his 11-year-old brother, in the Walibi parking lot.

The events occurred shortly following 5:20 p.m. As he was leaving his parking space behind the wheel of his car, a man hit the young boy. The driver did not see the child; it was the father’s cries that alerted him. The young victim was inert on the spot. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene to try to save the child’s life at the Saint-Pierre Clinic where he was pronounced dead. According to the Walloon Brabant public prosecutor’s office, the child was already no longer breathing in the parking lot of the amusement park.
No camera was able to film the accident but it appears that the driver was traveling at a reduced speed. He also tested negative on the breathalyzer test. His wife and five children were also in the vehicle.
