A 63-year-old man who was out for a walk was attacked by a cow and rescued by a dog; Huge fine for farm owner

Devon: Elderly man with dog attacked by cow, owner fined The cow attacked 63-year-old Steve Adams from Warwickshire, England. The old man and his wife were attacked by a cow while walking on the footpath. He was seriously injured in the attack and had to spend seven days in the emergency room.

Barry Fowler, a farmer from Sidbury, Devon, was sentenced. A fine of 3,500 pounds (approximately Rs. 349,120) is proposed. The punishment is for leaving a cow in public places carelessly and causing injury to people. Steve is retired from the transportation industry. He was attacked by a cow in July 2021. Steve and Jane were visiting a motor home campsite in east Devon and were on their way to a pub near a meadow when the incident happened.

At the end of the footpath, there was a fence to separate it from the meadow, but the couple walked with the dog in the middle of about twenty cows. A cow with a calf attacked the 63-year-old man. The 63-year-old fell down after being hit on the head. When the 63-year-old fell to the ground and tried to crawl away, the cow kicked him.

The Health Protection Department has conducted an investigation into the incident. It is observed that while the calf was with it, it may have seen strangers and may have provoked the cow. The 63-year-old man was saved by the incessant barking of the dog that was with the couple.
