According to Aminu Juhar, director of corporate strategy at EDR, the rail freight business was the main driver of this performance.

Operational since January 2018, the Addis Ababa-Djibouti railway is an essential link for Ethiopia’s supply and international trade, which has made the port of Djibouti its gateway to the sea. a more secure corridor for Ethiopia, while the routes via Eritrea are affected by the frequent armed conflicts between the two countries.
