Roland Duchâtelet has therefore (re) gone on the offensive to, with the support of Jelle Van Damme and Paul-José Mpoku, file a criminal complaint with civil action against Anderlecht, Genk, Anthony Vanden Borre, Ilombe “Pelé” Mboyo and X, for tampering with matches at the end of the 2013-2014 season. If the former boss of Standard knows that, by definition, in such a case, the complainants cannot be 100% sure of the accuracy of the facts, the complaint recently filed by Anderlecht and its new management against X (Herman Van Holsbeeck and Mogi Bayat are clearly targeted) shows at least that the case is to be taken seriously and means that the Brussels club had come to the conclusion that criminally reprehensible acts had taken place at the time.
But where Anderlecht have filed a complaint, in quotation marks, against himself, as the arranged matches would have been in his favor, the Standard does not seem to move a hair, while it still serves as a main victims. Understand who can! It is all the more astonishing, moreover, that, according to Roland Duchâtelet, Bruno Venanzi reported to him, three years after the acquisition of the Standard, information that Mogi Bayat had boasted before him of arranged the match between Anderlecht and Genk by distributing valuable watches to a number of Limburg players. Better yet, Duchâtelet now claims that Bruno Venanzi confided in him, during a shared lunch on Friday 11 February in Saint-Trond, that he had been pressured to return to his version.
