As for the case, Cassation lawyer Ashraf Nagy says that as soon as the Public Prosecution receives an official notification of the death of the accused in the case, and after the completion of its investigations, it issues a memorandum of preservation and the expiration of the criminal case for the death of the accused.
In statements to Masrawy, “Naji” added that a criminal case is not referred against a deceased person due to the lack of litigation.
Article 14 of the Code of Criminal Procedure states that “the criminal case lapses with the death of the accused.”
Does the victim’s family have the right to request civil compensation after the death of the accused?
Naji said that the law allowed the families of the victims – if they wanted – to file a civil lawsuit to request compensation for the damages they suffered as a result of killing their daughter.

The victim was named “Amani.A.”, a 19-year-old student in the Faculty of Physical Education in the third year, and she was taken to the hospital and put on a respirator, but she breathed her last from being hit in the back.
