“It was an instruction that I gave, knowing how our adversaries, the conservatives, were going to respond; I made the decision to hire specialist doctors from abroad, and doctors from Cuba are going to come (…) Because health has nothing to do with ideologies, it has to do with human rights, and if they have to be brought from the United States , from Russia, from Cuba, Japan or France, we are going to have them here, but the important thing is that we have them”, insisted López Obrador, during his visit to the municipality.
In addition, the president said that the priority is that the activation of hospitals is in both shifts and weekends, since until now, there are communities in which there are no doctors to attend Saturdays and Sundays.
For his part, the secretary of health, Jorge Alcocer, confirmed that before the insufficiency of specialist medical personnel in Nayarit, they hired 49 foreign.
“Se has contracted 49 medical specialists, that as all of you know, it is clearly insufficient, and in due course you will know the complementary strategy for this; that has already been raised, that of hiring doctors from abroad so that these positions can be filled, ”he said between shouts and local health worker demands dissatisfied because they assure there is no clarity with the delivery of places.
