An Indian living in Latvia shared his observations about Latvians

While browsing Instagram or Tik Tok content, from time to time you can see foreigners living in Latvia making various videos about our country. Yes, sometimes with strong humor and irony. “360TV ZIŅneši” learned how they see Latvia and Latvians with their own eyes by meeting with Gokul from India, living in Riga.

Gokul came to Latvia as a student and now works in the education sector, helping other foreign students start their studies in Latvia. He chose this country because of the availability of education and cost – it is cheaper here than anywhere else in Europe.

There are a couple of things that surprised him in Latvia, for example, the cold. “One of the most important things is to buy thermal underwear! Several layers of clothing,” Gokul said.

“Latvians are usually cold. Usually when you first meet them they are unfriendly, but then you get to know them and they open up. I have very good Latvian friends! But I also have experience communicating with Latvian grandmothers who criticize and say nasty things. So, essentially, there are two sides to the coin,” Gokul explained.

He also actively shares his thoughts about life in Latvia on the TikTok website, where he says that he has been living here for six years. The man is also learning Latvian, but has not yet mastered it completely.
