The two defendants were apprehended in the act of preparing an illegal emigration operation by sea, a security source said, stressing that the searches carried out in their home led to the seizure of a car and two inflatable boats.
The tally showed that the two defendants were the subject of several search warrants at the national level, emanating from the services of the judicial police as well as from the gendarmerie of Laâyoune and Dakhla, for their presumed implication in similar cases relating to to the organization of illegal migration, drug trafficking and financial crimes, the same source said.
The two defendants were placed in police custody for the purposes of the judicial investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to elucidate the circumstances of this case, it is added, noting that research and investigations are continuing in order to arrest everyone involved in this criminal activity.
