ARENA says no to “diktat” –

In an exclusive interview with Gabonactu.com, the President of the Alliance for National Renaissance (ARENA), Richard Moulomba Mombo, maintained that if the CTRI wanted an inclusive and taboo-free dialogue, he would be happy if the modalities of participation were the object of a consensus.

Richard Moulombo Mombo, believes that no one can give themselves the right to choose among the activists of their political party, who should represent ARENA at the next meeting of the inclusive national dialogue. “ How can I understand that a third party, even a liberator, decides who should represent me?“, he lambasted.

Such an approach would be contrary to representative democracy, according to the president of ARENA who pleads for the obstacles to be removed before the first acts of dialogue.

The marginal part of politics

The Minister of Institutional Restoration, during a press conference last Friday, confirmed the holding of the inclusive national dialogue, from April 2 to 30, 2024.

It will bring together 580 delegates. Each political party is invited to propose a list of 4 people from which the authorities will choose 1 party representative.

« And that’s where it hurts », maintains Richard Moulomba, arguing that we cannot want to build a sustainable infrastructure without specialists in the matter.

« Bridges, to bridge and road engineers and not to bakers. The question of power, its conception and its management, in all countries of the world, is a highly political question. Trying to put politicians and the National Council of Democracy (CND) on a marginal line, in the next dialogue, is a gross error of judgment“, he warned.

The President of ARENA therefore invites the transitional authorities and the organizers of the dialogue to regain wisdom by rectifying the situation now.

Agenda and terms of reference

Particularly incisive, Richard Moulomba Mombo suspects the CTRI of wanting to submit to autopsy, through future dialogue, only the period 2009-2023 and to skim over it as if through a “ concord plane » the period 1968-2009.

A period filled, according to him, with crimes of all kinds, mismanagement and the most unimaginable vices, he maintained.

And the president of ARENA recalled that the history of Gabon has been written in indelible ink since 1960. “ No page of this open book can be erased with saliva, nor closed without having been completely read.“, he concluded.
