ATM withdrawal.. Details of the paper receipt fee from McCain

Some banks continue to impose fees on their customers when requesting a paper receipt from ATMs after making cash withdrawals, deposits, or balance inquiries, under the slogan of preserving the environment from pollution.

Banks resorted to applying fees on the paper receipt, not only for the purpose of preserving the environment, but also to generate revenues to cover the cost of periodic maintenance operations, sudden breakdowns, and the high cost of paper and inks after a decision

Stop collecting cash withdrawal fees for non-customer users of the machine last June.

Despite the return of cash withdrawal fees from last July – for the first time in 27 months when non-customers use non-bank ATMs – banks continue to impose fees on requesting a paper receipt, in order to oblige the central banks not to exceed fees for 5 pounds, which is somewhat less than taken earlier.

Last June, the Central Bank obligated banks not to exaggerate the value of cash withdrawal fees on ATMs and bank cards issued by another bank by more than 5 pounds until the end of this December, after a new decision was issued by the Central Bank.

The central setting a maximum limit on ATM cash withdrawal fees is the first application after stopping it for 27 months, from March 2020 until last June, as part of one of the precautionary measures to confront the Corona virus and change the culture of society from using cash for electronic payment.

And details of fees on the receipt in banks:

-Egypt Bank:

Approve a fee of 50 piasters on the paper receipt from the ATM when requesting a paper receipt from its customers under the slogan Preserve the Environment.

QNB ALAHLI Bank:

Approve pounds before deducting the receipt fees. The bank requests the customer’s approval to allow the bank to deduct the fees or cancel the execution and not withdraw the receipt.

-Cairo Bank:

Approve EGP fees for the paper receipt request to its customers when requesting a receipt from the ATM.
