Bariloche expects 30,000 Brazilians this winter

Bariloche expects some 30 thousand Brazilians for this winter season. Last year, some 22,000 tourists from that country visited the city.

Just over two months before the winter season, Bariloche was promoted at the fair World Travel Market (WTM) Latin America in São Paulo, Brazil. The event brings together some 500 exhibitors from more than 40 countries and around 8,000 visitors.

During the three days of the exhibition, the Bariloche stand organized, as is tradition, a snowfall simulation and attendees could get on a snowboard to complete the experience.

Bariloche also offered a “loyalty” dinner for 80 people, with the presence of the media, the most important tour operators in that country and representatives of various airlines.

“We find a lot of demand for Bariloche during the winter. The idea is to invite an open television channel from Brazil to make a special program about the city”, explained Burlón.

As of July 1st, there are seven direct flights between Brazil and Bariloche per week, confirmed by Aerolíneas Argentinasadded to four LatAm charts every weekend. Gol is considering offering direct flights, but is awaiting the proposal for an alternative airport other than Buenos Aires.

“From Aerolíneas they suggested that they could add frequencies if the demand warrants it,” said the municipal official.

During the fair in Brazil, Sky Airlines confirmed that it will resume direct flights between Santiago de Chile and Bariloche from the end of June to September 24, with three weekly frequencies. “In December they return with the charters for students and we are managing for the company to leave a weekly frequency between September and December,” said Burlón.
