Bayern sonduje rynek transfer Pietuszewskiego – Sky

Bayern Monachium is considering a transfer for Polish winger Oskar Pietuszewski to serve as a backup for Luis Díaz, according to reports confirmed by Sky Germany. The Bundesliga club, which is actively scouting for a player in that position, has placed the 18-year-old FC Porto talent on a short list of candidates. Sky Germany confirmed the speculation first reported by the German newspaper Bild, noting that “Die Roten” are genuinely contemplating the move, possibly imminently. According to well-informed German journalist Florian Plettenberg, conversations have already taken place regarding the transfer, and Bayern sporting director Max Eberl is said to value the young player. The potential transfer is also noted as being imminently possible, with the move potentially happening in the summer of 2027.

Bayern’s Search for Diaz Backup

The potential transfer is framed within Bayern’s search for a reserve player for Díaz. The club reportedly views Pietuszewski as a strong fit for this role, at least at his current stage of development. Sources emphasize his versatility, noting that the 18-year-old could also be deployed in the “number ten” position, which adds to his appeal for the German champions. German media have previously reported that Bayern scouts highly rate the 18-year-old. This interest from Bayern is not new, as Christian Falk and Julian Agardi previously conveyed that the club had been monitoring the Polish player during his time with Jagiellonia Białystok. Pietuszewski joined FC Porto in 2026 for a transfer fee of nearly nine million euros, and his contract with the Portuguese club is valid until 30 June 2031.

Major Hurdles to a Deal

Despite the interest, significant obstacles remain. A key barrier is Pietuszewski’s €60 million release clause, a figure considered too high for a backup player. Bundesliga expert Tomasz Urban suggested to WP SportoweFakty that Bayern is unlikely to pay such a sum for a player who would not be a regular starter. Urban also noted that FC Porto would be unwilling to sell him for a lower price. Furthermore, the transfer’s feasibility is further complicated by Pietuszewski’s recent injury problems, which have limited his game time this season to just four matches.

Skepticism Over Transfer Realism

Expert opinions cast doubt on the immediate likelihood of the transfer. Urban described the link as merely a market probe, stating, Klub po prostu sonduje rynek, pojawiają się kolejne nazwiska (The club is just sounding out the market, other names keep appearing). He dismissed the transfer as very far from being realized, explaining that it would be bezzasadne było analizowanie tego transferu (unreasonable to analyze this transfer) at this stage. While a German journalist noted that conversations have already taken place and that Pietuszewski is on a short list, the overall consensus points to a scenario that is more speculative than imminent. A successful transfer for Pietuszewski would make him the most expensive Polish player in history, surpassing the record set by Robert Lewandowski, whom Barcelona acquired from Bayern for an estimated €45-50 million in 2022.
