Colombian actress Johanna Fadul and her husband, musician Juanse Quintero, are expecting a baby after sharing intimate footage of their IVF journey on Instagram, a decade after the heartbreaking loss of their twin daughters. The couple documented their medical journey on social media, revealing the assisted fertilization procedure they underwent to achieve a new pregnancy.
The couple, who had spoken openly about their desire to be parents again after the loss of their twins, shared images documenting the extraction of eggs to the subsequent transfer of the embryo. In her official Instagram account, Fadul showed fragments of her medical consultations, ultrasound check-ups, and the follow-up before the final intervention. The video published by the actriz appeared to include records from October 20, 2025, the date on which she began one of the central stages of the medical procedure.
A Public Journey of Faith and Medicine
Fadul’s publication was accompanied by a message about the path the couple took to fulfill their dream of becoming parents again. There are miracles that begin long before they become a reality, they begin with a prayer, a dream and a heart that never loses faith
, Fadul wrote on her Instagram account. Quintero accompanied the actress throughout the clinical process, and in the moments prior to the embryo transfer, the artist dedicated words of faith asking for a favorable evolution of the fertilization, a spiritual aspect very characteristic of the couple throughout their family search. Fadul and Quintero followed the procedure closely and recorded their reaction upon seeing the embryo that would be transferred.
During the treatment, the couple had the possibility to find out the sex of the baby in advance. However, both decided not to receive that information and to wait until a later stage of the pregnancy to discover it. In one of the sequences published by the actress, the moment after the embryo transfer is observed, where Quintero expressed his gratitude for the process and asked for the pregnancy to progress favorably. The video also captured some of the medical consultations and explanations they received before proceeding with the embryo transfer.
A History of Loss and Medical Complications
The search for a new pregnancy by Fadul and Quintero comes after a complex precedent in their personal and medical history. In 2015, when the couple lived in Mexico, they were expecting their twin daughters, Antonella and Anabella. One morning, Fadul noticed she did not feel the movements of her daughters and sought medical attention. Days before they had done an ultrasound, they were perfect, they measured practically the same, and one day I wake up and I don’t feel them
, she recalled. According to Fadul, one of the babies presented fluid accumulation and severe brain damage, while her sister’s condition also deteriorated in the following days. “They told us they could intervene to try to save one of the babies, but Juanse and I wanted to have our daughters,” the couple expressed.

In the seventh month of gestation, and after check-ups showing a normal evolution, severe complications arose. Despite the alternatives proposed to try to save one of the girls, the conditions forced the induction of labor. Subsequently, Fadul’s health was affected. The actress has stated in previous interviews that she faced alterations in her menstrual cycle and that subsequent check-ups showed the presence of uterine scars, among other anatomical factors that made natural conception difficult for nearly a decade, leading the couple to turn to specialized medicine. During an interview in September 2025, Fadul recalled the difficult six days she spent in the clinic and how that experience transformed her life. “It was six dense days in the clinic. Juanse never showed me that vulnerability, but it led me to mature and forge my character,” she related.
The Couple Announced They Are Expecting a Baby
The couple announced the news on October 15, 2026, with a joint post on their Instagram accounts featuring a series of photographs and a video filmed on the beach. There are chapters we thought we would never write again… until God surprises us. Today our love grows, our dreams take shape again and a new life is on the way. Our most beautiful miracle. We are going to be parents!
, they expressed in the post. One of the details that drew attention was that they wrote the years 1988, 1985, and 2027 in the sand, corresponding to their years of birth and the year in which they expect to welcome their son.
The announcement sparked an outpouring of congratulations from followers, friends, and figures from the entertainment world. However, the couple has not revealed how many weeks pregnant the actress is, nor have they confirmed if the announced pregnancy is the result of the specific procedure they detailed in their social media posts, leaving a direct relationship between both events publicly unconfirmed.
