While energy prices have reached peaks and many Belgians will undoubtedly reduce their consumption sharply or even go without heating, many of them have been going to DIY stores in recent days with one goal: find something to insulate their windows and door frames to prevent cold air from entering their homes.
Indeed, as our colleagues from RTL info report, the shelves dedicated to insulation have been taken by storm in recent weeks. Whether it’s finding insulating plastics for windows or blocking door frames, it’s all good to try to retain a little heat.
“As far as window and door frame insulation is concerned, this year it starts much earlier, 2 to 3 weeks in advance”, explains a section manager in a DIY store to our colleagues.
Note, however, that no stock shortages are currently planned, so there should be something for everyone.
