Because she was in the wrong bed: Brite kills drunk grandma (71) News

She made a mistake in the door, landed in the wrong bed. That’s why Margaret Barnes († 71) was killed by a Briton. A court sentenced David Redfern (46) to a long prison term.

Review, July 11, 2022: The 71-year-old wants to take a vacation by the sea, drives from Birmingham (England) to Barmouth (Wales). Arriving at the resort, the pensioner has a few drinks.

The teeth were already on the bedside table

At around 10:10 p.m. she makes her way to her bed and breakfast. On the island, this means rooms that private individuals rent including breakfast. However, Barnes goes into the wrong house but doesn’t realize her mistake. Images from a surveillance camera show the noticeably drunk woman.

Around 40 minutes later, David Redfern wakes up. The 130-kilo man had also filled up properly (seven beers, including schnapps) and slept off his intoxication on the couch. When the beefy bald man wakes up and wants to go to bed, he meets, according to media reports, a half-naked woman smoking. Grandma had already put her teeth on the bedside table.

Cause of death Liver rupture

During the argument, Redfern grabs Barnes, who is completely inferior to him, and drags her down the stairs by her ankles. In front of the house, the 46-year-old kicked the tourists together, breaking three ribs. According to an autopsy, Margaret Barnes died of a ruptured liver.

Caernarfon Crown Court has now sentenced the Welshman to life imprisonment for murder. David Redfern has to serve at least 14 years in prison before parole can be negotiated.

Victim and the widower had been a couple for 56 years

Judge Charles Bourne said: “I understand that you must have been very shocked to find a stranger in your home – in your bedroom. But your reaction is beyond anything a sane person could imagine.”

Relatives of the dead also appeared at the hearing. Natalie Barnes described her mother as a person who “loved the little things in life”. Granddaughter Robyn Barnes was heartbroken by her grandmother’s death. And widower Raymond Barnes, who was with his wife for 56 years, said: “Our lives will never be the same again.”
