Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (winner of the Oberhof sprint, 2 shooting errors):

“This morning, I was thinking in my room: “fourth victory in a row, no, no, no, don’t count on it”. On the other hand, a victory in a sprint is possible (smile). It’s not a perfect race, but it’s a good result. I was in really good shape today on the skis, I had very good skis. The Christmas break allowed me to find freshness and those sensations that I hadn’t had since the start of the season in Östersund, clearly. The yellow bib? There are still around ten individual races remaining (12, editor’s note). Yes, I counted them (smiles). Of course I think about it, but honestly, what’s good today is that I’ve managed to detach myself from this issue which is distant. I managed to be myself and stay focused. »

Sophie Chauveau (3rd, 1 fault):

” I can not believe it. It’s a bit of a surreal ride for me. It was weird because I was told that I was second coming out of the shooting range, then third, then second, I didn’t really know. I was starting to get really cooked and I was hoping not to get pulled up again rather than going to scrape in front. I worked on standing shooting a lot over the Christmas holidays, I reset things. I was tired of being told “too bad for these two standing faults” There is no fault there! (smile).

Julia Simon (10th, 2 faults):

“It’s frustrating because when I arrived at the shooting range there was no wind. Gradually, he got up, it’s no luck… It’s really starting to be painful because there’s been a lot of “cord” (ball on the edge of the target, editor’s note) since the start of the season , and they are exterior. The standing shot saves a decent race, but not where I aspire to be. I limit the damage. That positions me for the chase, but I’m starting to get a little tired of placing myself in the Top 10, I want to play up front, to stop having this sprint as a pet peeve. I’m starting to hear that I’m a good biathlete but not in sprints, that makes me bitter… I have to accept that the season is not like last year, it’s a little more complicated. In skiing, it’s a little sluggish, I’m not at my best level. »
