Maxwell (48) provided a very special moment of the evening. The Billboard Music Awards were presented in Las Vegas on Sunday. Among others, Drake (35), Kanye West (44) and Olivia Rodrigo (19) cleared. In between there was also something to hear: In addition to musicians like Ed Sheeran (31) was also Maxwell on stage – and had a special request: With his performance he paid tribute to Michael Jackson (✝50)!
In November it will be 40 years since the King of Pop released his legendary album “Thriller”. For this reason there Maxwell at the award ceremony the final track “The Lady in My Life” for the best. The 48-year-old performed in a striking glittery jacket and matching gloves and ended his tribute by saying: “We love you, Michael Jackson.”
Before this performance Maxwell tremendous respect. Even before the show on the red carpet, he emphasized AND! news: “I just want to do everything right – it is Michael Jackson. There’s nobody better, nobody bigger, so I just want to do well.” It was an honor for him to be able to take over this part of the evening.
