US Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana meant well when he said late last week: “When hell freezes over there will be three things left: Chuck Grassley, Mitch McConnell and cockroaches.” In no way was he saying that he saw his fellow Republicans as vermin, rather he wanted to say that 89-year-old Senator Grassley and 81-year-old Senator McConnell were resilient. In the case of McConnell in particular, however, this is currently being questioned.
