An investigation was initiated by the Brussels public prosecutor’s office following the discovery of a lifeless body on rue du Progrès, in Schaerbeek, during the night from Saturday to Sunday, the public prosecutor’s office said on Tuesday.
“The Brussels-North police zone was notified, on Sunday around 3:30 a.m., of the discovery of a person lying on the ground on a public road, rue du Progrès in Schaerbeek. The police and emergency services were immediately called to the scene. They could only note the death of this person“, explained the Brussels prosecutor’s office. “A judicial exclusion perimeter was set up in order to preserve traces useful for the investigation. Informed of the facts, the deputy of the King’s prosecutor ordered the first investigative duties, namely the hearing of witnesses and the viewing of images from surveillance cameras“, he continued. “The investigation continues to determine the circumstances of the facts. The Brussels public prosecutor’s office will not make any further comments on this matter at this stage.“.
