The other opposition parties were similarly critical. For the FPÖ, the previously known details of the budget are “proof of the complete failure of the black-green coalition”, for the Neos the government is once again “cementing” the past instead of focusing on future areas.

Still swimming cautiously

Head of the Fiscal Council Christoph Badelt was still cautious about assessing the draft budget that Finance Minister Magnus Brunner (VP) will present tomorrow. What is already known suggests that – “not unusual in pre-election times” – it will once again be a strongly expansive budget. But he also called for more efforts to be made towards budget consolidation.
