Apple will unveil a new line of hardware, including expected touch-screen MacBook Pro models featuring OLED displays, at a press event in Los Angeles on October 28, 2026, Business AM reported.
The Pro and Tell Presentation in Los Angeles
The product showcase carries the slogan “Pro and tell” and will begin at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. Following the morning announcements, journalists attending the venue will have hands-on time with the newly revealed hardware.
Bloomberg reported that the event is expected to feature the company’s first laptops built with touch screens. These redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch Pro variants are slated to be lighter than their predecessors and will likely incorporate OLED screen technology alongside the Dynamic Island interface previously seen on mobile handsets.
Hardware Upgrades Across the Mac and iPad Lines
Beyond the high-end portables, the hardware refresh includes an affordable 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M6 processor, alongside a redesigned iMac. Both of these machines are expected to retain their current exterior enclosures.
The M6 chip utilizes a 2-nanometer manufacturing process. That silicon architecture debuted in August within the Mac mini.
A Strategic Shift for macOS
Releasing a Mac equipped with a touch screen changes the hardware maker's strategy. Previous corporate statements emphasized that the macOS operating system was explicitly engineered for mouse and trackpad inputs.
This hardware adjustment aligns with a broader overhaul spanning the entire Mac lineup across the upcoming twelve months.
John Ternus leads third major hardware rollout
The October gathering marks the third major hardware rollout of the season. It is also the second product event led by Chief Executive Officer John Ternus, who assumed the role on September 1 following Tim Cook’s succession.
