CHAUDERÓN SENTENCED, BUT RELEASED

The false doctor’s sentence is 5 years and 8 months in prison. But the prosecutor would agree to the granting of parole, given the time he has already served in the Melchor Romero unit and under house arrest. In any case, his defense will appeal the measure.

Finally, who was accused in 2017 of illegally practicing medicine, Guillermo Chauderón, was found responsible for the crimes of Usurpation of Titles and Honors, Repeated Scams, Illegal Practice of Medicine, Document Forgery and use of False Certificate and/or adulterated; Supply and Improper Prescription of Medications All in Real and Ideal Contest.

For these illegal acts, the Justice sentenced him to five years and 8 months of effective prison, added to the special disqualification for the practice of medicine for a term of 8 years. However, he would be in a position to access the conditional release benefit, given the length of the confinement period that he has already served in the 34th penal unit of Melchor Romero and, also, in house arrest.

The case had originated in 2017 as a result of an anonymous complaint. For four years Guillermo Chauderón was in exercise as Head of Guard of the UOM Sanatorium in San Nicolás, without realizing that he did not have the title.

discovered maneuver

For a medical concurrence program, the UOM sanatorium needed the endorsement of the College of Physicians of district 6 of the province of Buenos Aires. He sent a list to the entity in which he included Guillermo Chauderón and the response was that he did not appear in the system. While the sanatorium demanded the title from the false doctor to verify if there was an irregularity, the College received an anonymous call: a complaint of appropriation of signature and registration in the same medical center.

From the direction of the sanatorium they explained that Guillermo Chauderón “always said that the license plates were his.” When he was asked to present the title, he replied: “I lost it in the flood of La Emilia.”

After the scam was made public, he tried to take his own life, stabbing himself several times and was treated in the same place where he worked as a false title.

Chauderón signed as ‘Doctor of the FNSR Medical Clinic Service (Our Lady of Rosario Foundation)’ and had 2 license plates: MN: 142,198 and MP: 57,697. “The first corresponded to a woman and the second to a doctor with the surname Galván who worked in Luján until 1998 and when he went to live in Neuquén he asked to be discharged,” as reported by the District Medical College.

authorized to study

While in prison, Guillermo Chauderón was enabled to take the exams and finish his studies at the National University of Rosario.

After being detained in the Penal Unit 34 of Melchor Romero, in 2017, Chauderón had benefited from house arrest to study the subjects he owed. The authorization was granted to his defense attorney, Dr. Jorge Lima, by the Appeals Chamber made up of doctors Moreno, Alomar, and Martínez.

Guillermo Chauderón, accused of the illegal practice of medicine, finished taking two subjects at the Faculty of Medicine in Rosario that had been pending.

The request to finish the race was made by his lawyer in the first place to the Judge of Guarantees María Eugenia Maiztegui who denied it. He was later appealed by Lima before the Criminal Appeals Chamber.
