China’s measured Intel Arc A730M’s 3DMark TimeSpy score beats the RTX 3070, but there is one thing to note

Among the Intel Arc laptops, the high-end version of the Arc 7 series includes Arc 730M and A770M. Although Taiwan has not yet launched, there have been some measured data of A730M in China recently. There is a 3MarK TineSpy running score that is quite eye-catching and won. RTX 3070, but after entering the game test, it seems that because the driver has not been fully optimized, the running score is quite disappointing.

China’s measured Intel Arc A730M’s 3DMark TimeSpy score beats the RTX 3070, but the game is a bit disappointing

Recently, the Golden Pig upgrade package has been sharing the A730M’s running score data on Weibo, the first is 3DMark TimeSpy.

This is a laptop powered by Intel’s 12th generation Alder Lake processor, the CPU model is Core i7-12700H (14 cores), equipped with A730M discrete graphics card, and the graphics display of 3DMark TimeSpy achieved a high score of 10138:

According to foreign media Notebookcheck Ranking of GPU scores, the RTX 3070 laptop scored an average of 9462 points, which means that the A730M scores higher than it, which can be said to be quite eye-catching. One thing to note though is that the Intel Arc graphics lineup is specifically optimized for 3DMark, so it’s likely not actually winning:

Then the golden pig upgrade package began to test the game. The performance of the A730M here is disappointing. The running score is only a little faster than the entry-level RTX 3050. It is likely that the Arc driver has not been fully optimized.

The games tested included Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, Metro Exodus, and F1 2020. In Metro Exodus, the A730M delivered an average of 70 FPS at high-definition 1080p settings, and an average of 55 FPS at 1440p:

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey performed poorly, with an average of 38FPS at 1080p quality settings, and dropped to an average of 32FPS at 1440p:

He also tried the game “Tomb Raider: Shadow”, but it didn’t work on DirectX 12, DirectX 11 did, but no test data was shared. The Golden Pig upgrade package in the message is also supplemented. The A370M is close to the full-blooded RTX 3060 only in “Metro Exodus”, and the others are similar to the RTX 3050. Obviously, there is a problem with the driver.

Not sure if these game tests have the DTT function turned on, if it is turned on, it is likely to affect the performance test.

From the previous A350M, A370M, to this A730M, it can be said that the GPU hardware part of Intel is ready, but the software department is still far behind, and has not yet released a driver that can fully release the performance of Arc graphics card.
