According to the legal newspaper coverage on the 15th, Mr. Choi, the second daughter of Director Roh, submitted a petition including a petition to the 2nd housekeeping division of the Seoul High Court (Presiding Judge Kim Si-cheol and High Court Judges Kang Sang-wook and Lee Dong-hyun) on the 15th.
Choi is the second daughter of Chairman Choi and Director Roh, and until recently worked as a team leader at SK Hynix. After graduating from the Business Administration Department of Beijing University in China, Ms. Choi became a hot topic in 2014 when she voluntarily enlisted as a naval cadet, which was unusual for a chaebol family. After she was discharged as a lieutenant in the Navy in 2017, she joined the Chinese investment company ‘Hony Capital’ to build a career in global mergers and acquisitions (M&A), In 2019, she reportedly joined SK Hynix.
Between Chairman Choi and Director Roh, there are two daughters and one son. The eldest daughter is Choi Yun-jeong, the second daughter is Choi Min-jeong, and the eldest son is Choi In-geun.
It is not known what details Choi included in this petition. However, judging from the contents of the exclusive interview with Director Roh conducted by the legal newspaper on December 28, 2022, it is highly likely that the content will support the side of Director Roh, his mother.

Previously, the Seoul Family Court Housekeeping Division 2 (Presiding Judge Kim Hyeon-jeong) said in a lawsuit filed by Director Noh against Chairman Choi for divorce, alimony, and property division on December 6, 2022, part of the plaintiff said, “Chairman Choi and Director Roh are divorcing.” ruled in favor.
The judge said, “Chairman Choi should pay Director Roh 100 million won in alimony and 66.5 billion won in property division.” The divorce suit filed by Chairman Choi against Director Roh (main lawsuit) was dismissed.
The court judged that SK Holdings shares should be excluded from the property division as the unique property of Chairman Chey Tae-won. At the same time, business property can be subject to property division only on the grounds of indirect contributions such as housework, etc., as a separate person from the manager or owner, and the existence and operation of a company or other business entity that exists independently is a confidential and private dispute between husband and wife. In July 2017, Chairman Choi applied for divorce mediation against Director Roh. When the agreement was broken due to Director Noh’s opposition, in February 2018, they filed for divorce. In response, Director Noh filed a countersuit in December 2019, requesting alimony of 300 million won and division of property for 50% of SK Holdings stock owned by Chairman Choi.
