Circus SE Reports Stabilizing Fleet and Q3 Progress

Three months after slashing its revenue forecast, Munich-based food robotics specialist Circus SE reported a stabilizing core fleet and a dramatically accelerated installation timeline on October 16, 2026, though analysts remain deeply divided on the company’s financial valuation and path to profitability.

Operating Metrics Point to Stabilizing Field Deployments

Opening the quarterly update call on October 16, 2026, CEO Nikolas Bullwinkel addressed a tumultuous year of market euphoria followed by severe operational headwinds. Circus currently operates 33 systems across 19 corporate clients in eight countries, targeting a milestone of more than 50 systems by the end of the year.

The operational bottlenecks that forced a drastic guidance cut on July 16—when 2026 revenue expectations were lowered from a range of 44 to 55 million euros down to 5.2 million euros—appear to be easing. For mature units deployed longer than 100 days, Circus reports an uptime availability of 93 percent, a steep recovery from the 70 percent baseline recorded in January. Newly installed units are now experiencing stable initial deployments shortly after delivery.

Installation momentum has picked up alongside cost reductions.

Platform Expansion via Standardized Ingredient Pods

To eliminate deployment variance caused by inconsistent local ingredient quality and staff training, Circus rolled out its proprietary standardized ingredient platform over the summer. Dubbed Circus Pods, the system has processed over 14 tons of ingredients since its launch.

Production takes place in Germany, in Belgium through facilities acquired from Alberts, and locally in the United Arab Emirates. The current product assortment includes roughly 30 items, predominantly pasta and vegetables, with rice integration underway. Bullwinkel compares the mechanics to a Nespresso-style capsule system, though the current delivery mechanism relies on specialized bags loaded into silos. Beyond hardware sales and CircusOS software licensing fees, the pods introduce a consumption-based revenue stream designed to mimic software-like profit margins.

Portfolio Diversification Across Sectors and Geographies

Retail and hospitality remain the primary commercial pillars, anchored by long-running pilots with REWE and Meta, alongside ongoing deployments in industrial settings, hotels, and clinical environments.

The United States market remains without a concrete launch date, with management planning entry via globally operating enterprise clients.

Financing Strategies and Divergent Analyst Outlooks

Circus expects a 2026 revenue of 5.2 million euros against an estimated negative EBITDA of roughly 17 million euros.

Equity research firms maintain wide-ranging price targets that reflect this tension between technological progress and capital burn. Montega reaffirmed a “Hold” rating with a price target of 2.20 euros, emphasizing that a waiting period persists until the 2027 revenue acceleration materializes in audited financials. Conversely, mwb research sustained a “Speculative Buy” rating with an 8.40 euro price target, pointing to the 93 percent uptime and reduced operating costs as signs of successful execution. Water Tower Research continues its coverage without issuing a formal rating or price target.
