This Monday morning, the Province released the usual Consumer Price Index (CPI) that marks the growth in the prices of goods and services during the past month in Córdoba.
According to this indicator, in the month of August 2023, the CPI-Cba registered an increase in its general level of 12.15% compared to the previous month.
This variation is 5.4 percentage points higher than that observed in the month of July, an increase that is mainly explained by the transfer of the increase in the dollar exchange rate to the prices of food, durable goods, clothing and footwear, points out the Official report.
Considering the importance of each chapter at the general level, the monthly variation of the CPI-Cba in the month of August is largely explained by:
- Chapter Food and Beverages; mainly explained by the increases in the average prices of meat and derivatives; and food and beverages purchased and consumed in restaurants/bars.
- Transportation and Communications Chapter; due to variations in the prices of fuels and lubricants; car purchase; telephone services; taxis and remises; and bus ticket.
