In Kuwait, the series “One Wife is Not Enough” faced widespread criticism and sparked controversy due to its boldness in presenting social topics such as “marital infidelity and polygamy.”
With the escalation of demands to stop the series, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information issued, through our page on the “X” website, a statement in which it affirmed its confrontation with any artistic work that offends the State of Kuwait and its people, and it stated: “The Ministry of Information confirmed its complete rejection of any artistic works that include an insult to the State of Kuwait or affect the ethics of the series.” Kuwaiti society, stressing that it will take the necessary measures to confront any artistic work that offends Kuwaiti society.”
The Ministry said that it has begun taking several measures against the Ramadan series offensive to Kuwaiti society, and to prevent the recurrence of such offensive scenes, demanding that all concerned “respect the laws, regulations, and covenants.”
The series “One Wife is Not Enough” is written by Kuwaiti writer Heba Mishari Hamada, starring Hoda Hussein, Sahar Hussein, Majed Al-Masry, Aiten Amer, Fatima Al-Safi, Ahmed Iraj, and directed by Ali Al-Ali.
