“Controversy Surrounding La Zarra’s Eurovision Participation: Canceled Engagements and Diva Claims”

To represent France at Eurovision this year, the French delegation bet on La Zarra, a young Quebec artist. The latter became known in 2021 with her single “Tu t’en iras”, and will perform the title “Obviously” during the European competition, next May in Liverpool. But currently, it is not her talents as a singer of La Zarra that are talking about.

The Canadian artist has just canceled three engagements in recent days, including a concert in London and a performance that took place on Saturday in Amsterdam, as part of her participation in Eurovision. La Zarra had however taken part in the rehearsals in the afternoon – with the 28 other candidates in the competition -, but at the last minute, the French delegation announced that it would not occur, “following a personal problem” . “So I’m going to need a few days to manage these difficult times,” added La Zarra on Twitter.

These last-minute cancellations without a clear explanation untied the tongues of those around the young woman. Le Parisien followed La Zarra’s “crazy day with multiple twists” on Saturday in Amsterdam, and reports that an old acquaintance of the singer does not hesitate to call her a “diva”. “I had warned the chain that it was complicated to manage”, declared this same person. “It’s a disaster,” lamented the French delegation to Eurovision, which negotiated for La Zarra to perform all the same on Saturday evening. She arranged with the production of the concert to reschedule the performance of her representative at the end of the evening, before the latter decided to cancel everything definitively, without explaining what her “personal problem” was.

Earlier in the day, La Zarra had also complained about the Amsterdam hotel in which she was staying. She lamented, in a video posted on social networks, “an unworthy hygiene, when you have a voice as wonderful as mine”.
