The government assumes that the peak of the omicron wave will soon be reached, the health minister wrote on Twitter.
According to media reports, Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen is expected to announce on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. that she will propose lifting the corona restrictions from January 31st.

The highly contagious omicron variant of the corona virus had spread earlier in Denmark than in Germany. The number of new infections in the country of 5.8 million inhabitants on Tuesday was around 46,000 new corona infections. A high of 30,000 corona cases was reached last week.
