Dileep will face more charges; Further investigation report to be submitted on Friday- Actress Assault Case | Crime Branch | Further Probe

Kochi: The crime branch will submit a further investigation report on Friday in the case of kidnapping and torturing an actress as per the citation to record defamatory scenes. Actor Dileep will also be charged with concealment and destruction of evidence in the case. An additional charge sheet against Dileep’s friend Sarath will be filed in the Angamaly Magistrate’s Court. The case will be considered again by 3 pm on Friday.

The investigation team had sought 3 more weeks to complete the investigation in the context of the forensic report that the memory card, which is the main clue in the case, was illegally opened in three courts. After the request was rejected by the High Court, the investigation team informed that the final report is ready. After Director General of Prosecution T.A. Shaji requested that time be given till Monday to submit the report as a lot of copies have to be taken, Justice Kausar Edappagat had granted time till Friday.

The crime branch started further investigation in January following the disclosure by director P. Balachandrakumar that the first accused NS Sunilkumar (Pulsar Suni) and the eighth accused Dileep had a close relationship. Three times more time was allowed to complete this. It was finally suggested to complete the further investigation on the last 15th.

Former Jail DGP R. Sreelekha had made allegations through his YouTube channel that the evidence against Dileep was fabricated. It was also found that the digital structure (hash value) of the memory card in the custody of the court had changed. The investigation team again approached the High Court stating that there was not enough time to complete the investigation in these two cases. There are 100 new witnesses in the 1,500-page charge sheet.
